The core of our investment strategy is mitigating downside market risk while maximizing sustainable returns on our investments. We achieve this by following strict investment criteria and applying market and property level metrics to each acquisition opportunity. Our highly selective acquisitions and development process is informed by market analysis, financial modeling, in-depth due diligence, and most importantly the experienced judgment of our senior management team. Diversification by geographic location and project type underlie our greater investment strategy, while property-specific due-diligence and metrics inform our investment decisions. Most importantly, our team utilizes independent data sources to drive property underwriting and ultimately investment decisions. In our experience, great investments require time, patience, and skilled active management.

Experience

Platinum Storage Group was established in 1999 providing us with over 20 years of industry experience and expertise. Today our company manages or owns approximately 2.5 million square feet of storage in 8 different states. Among our notable achievements are our current ranking as a Top Operator by Mini Storage Messenger. We are also a member of the Larger Operators Council and are a founding member in the StoreLocal self storage Co-Op. In addition, Platinum is heavily invested is technologies that are currently shaping the future of real estate and the self-storage industry. As a longtime operator in the industry, Platinum is uniquely positioned to synthesize these technologies with proven operating and investing methods adapt to ever-changing market demands.

Strategy

We believe that in the digital age, successful real estate companies are distinguished by their ability to adapt to and incorporate technology as part of their core product offering. Platinum is heavily invested in staying ahead of the digital transformation in order to better interact with our clients, customers as well as manage our assets and find new opportunities. We search for new management opportunities, property acquisitions that are underperforming, as well as developments in underserved markets.

Access

Until recently, direct investment access to self-storage opportunities has been nearly exclusive to institutional grade investors. These investors needed to either hold shares of REITs or directly own their own self-storage asset. Platinum has been working with accredited investors as well as institutional equity to provide direct investments into niche self-storage real estate projects, while also giving access to retail investors within our network.
