Dane Elefante is the Chief Operating Officer at Platinum Storage Group. He is primarily responsible for the property management and operational oversight of each facility in their portfolio. In addition, he oversees the performance of Platinum’s investments from inception to sale, focusing on creating and executing property-level strategies to maximize value. As a member of the Investment and Acquisitions Team, Dane is involved with the exploration and due diligence of all acquisition opportunity. Furthermore, he is responsible for ensuring that each new investment aligns with the Company’s long-term vision and goals. Dane represents Platinum as a founding member of StoreLocal, the nation’s first Self-Storage Co-op, and is a Board Member with Tenant Inc, a vertically integrated self-storage proptech company. He is also an active member of the Young Leaders Group and national Self-Storage Association (SSA). Dane has 20 years of commercial real estate experience including feasibility analysis, underwriting, and development. He graduated from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business, earning a B.S in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Development and Finance.
Mr. Elefante is responsible for managing the company’s core business and corporate functions. This includes management of new development and redevelopment; asset management; and corporate functions including marketing, information technology, human resources, risk management/insurance, and legal. Mr. Elefante is the head of the firm’s Operations Committee and a member of the Management, Investments, and Finance committees.
He also leads the firm’s data analytics business to integrate property-level, portfolio-level, and market data to inform sub-market location and design decisions for new developments and acquisitions, dynamic rent pricing, targeted marketing, and to drive operational efficiency. His team has also developed technology to customize the company’s communications with customers and investment partners.
Mr. Elefante earned a B.S in Business Administration from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business, with a concentration in Real Estate Development and Finance. He represents Platinum’s role as a founding member of StoreLocal, the nation’s premier self-storage cooperative, and is an active member of the national Self-Storage Association (SSA). Mr. Elefante is considered a thought leader on self-storage industry issues and is a frequent speaker at self-storage industry conferences.
