President

Genevieve Sigmund is President of Platinum Storage Group where she works closely with the executive team to drive and execute the strategic vision of the firm. She focuses much of her time on building key relationships with both debt and equity partners and sourcing and pursuing real estate acquisitions. As a member of the investment committee, she also curates investments and participates in the analysis and due-diligence of each new opportunity to ensure that it fits with the company’s larger strategic goals. Genevieve works closely with other members of the Platinum team to manage the company’s financial and banking relationships, human resources, investor relations and the integration of properties into the company’s growing nationwide portfolio. Prior to joining Platinum, Ms. Sigmund worked in the political arena as a consultant on high profile campaigns at the national, state and local level. Ms. Sigmund earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California. She has held positions on the Orange County, CA board of USC Marshall Partners, CREW and is currently a member of the Cal Coast chapter of Young Presidents Organization.

Ms. Sigmund works closely with the executive team to drive and execute the strategic vision of the firm.  Ms. Sigmund is head of the firm’s Management Committee and an active member of the firm’s Investment, Operations, and Finance committees. Her sixteen years of experience at Platinum Storage includes roles in raising debt and equity capital; acquisitions, land entitlement, development, and dispositions; asset management; managing banking relationships and the firm’s treasury group; investor relations; and expanding Platinum’s product offerings to its self-storage customers.

Prior to becoming President in 2013, Ms. Sigmund was the head of business development at Platinum. In this role, she specialized in developing and marketing new ancillary business lines to Platinum’s self-storage customers to expand Platinum’s services and further enhance investment returns. She also worked closely with Platinum’s CEO, Skip Elefante, to develop and acquire self-storage properties owned by Platinum and to win significant property management contracts for Platinum to manage storage facilities owned by third parties.

Ms. Sigmund has also served as an advisor to high profile political campaigns at the national, state and local levels.  This experience has proven to be valuable in managing Platinum’s land planning, entitlement, and development processes. Ms. Sigmund earned a bachelor’s degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California. She serves as board member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) – Cal Coast, and as a Planning Committee member for the Center for Real Estate at the University of California Irvine’s Merage School of Business. She has previously served as a board member on the Orange County, California board of USC Marshall Partners, which supports students at USC’s Marshall School of Business and Leventhal School of Accounting, and as an active member of the Commercial Real Estate Women’s network (CREW). Genevieve and her husband Geoff are active in charities that support veterans who are transitioning from military service to the workforce.
